The Saga of the Omnibus
by James Norton
The Omnibus was almost an anti-climax, but it was still an enormous amount of fun, and fiscally lucrative; after selling out the Omnibus, the Liberator closed out its '93-'94 year with $200 in the bank. To create the Omnibus, the Liberator Supreme Command Council had the pleasure of culling through its 12 previous editions, and picking out the creme of the crop. We ran our favorite articles, illustrations and comedy bits. We printed all of our disclaimers, in full, filling an entire page with 6-point type. We self-indulgently praised each other for our hard work. We looked at the worst things we ever printed (the final list: Fat Girls, Toilet Mold Menace Revealed, and Horatio the Dromedary) and managed, somehow, to laugh about it.
And we got a chance to thank everyone basically everyone, yeah who helped make the paper click. Few high-schoolers, I think, get a chance to survey their four years in the clink, look back, and grin. We were all fairly lucky to have had the Liberator.
