New ethnic club formed
In light of the many ethnically centered clubs and groups at West, a new organization has recently been formed. The West High Honky Awareness Foundation was founded by a honky student (who shall be referred to as Big Honky to protect his anonymity) who believes that unlike other ethnic groups, Honkies have no real support structure.
"I think a lot of Honkies have low self-esteem and little pride in their culture," says Big Honky. "Honky Awareness will give these students an opportunity to learn more about their rich heritage."
Big Hooky also goes on to say that many Honkies have played important roles in history. Men such as Leif Erikson, Charlemagne and Ray Kroc (founder of McDonald's) were all very important honkies. "In fact," says Big Honky, "few people know that our president is a Honky."
The first Honky Awareness meeting featured viewings of old episodes of Green Acres and Dukes of Hazard, as well as a variety of ethnic fast food. Said one member, "Eating that Pizza Hut pizza and watching Eva Gabor just makes me proud to be a honky."
