The Saga of Volume 2, Issue 2

It's not particularly wise to rave about work you've contributed to, particularly when it's from the Era of High School. But Volume 2, Issue 2 is one that the whole Liberator staff was exceedingly pleased with. From my own perspective, the only issue as good was the Funkadelic edition.

The Capital Times (Madison's afternoon daily) wrote an article about our front page, so accurately did it reflect the zeitgeist of escalating teacher/school board tensions. And the rest of the issue went over well with the general public – this particular issue was much in demand.

One of my favorite high school memories (which I'm arbitrarily pegging to this issue, although it might have been one of the later ones) was walking down the first floor hall, and seeing a group of about four guys crowding around an issue of the Liberator. One of them was reading one of our top ten lists... and he was getting laughs. Real, strong, hearty laughs, from material my friends and I had written, printed, and distributed. Amazing feeling.

At any rate, we were firing on all thrusters for this one.

Oh yeah. This issue also introduced The Chrome Ball. Anyone who doesn't like The Chrome Ball is an idiot.
