Chinese poetry contest results
The results are in! Our grand prize winner, a sophomore at West High, said his award-winning poem line was "told to him by the trees." We didn't argue. Our second-prize winner, in the "funny" category was an 8th-grader from Cherokee. The two winning entries went like this:
First Prize:
An old vagrant dwells in Venice.
His life is difficult, full of hardship.
A rat may have no tail,
and neither one can keep their balance.
Runner-Up:
An old vagrant dwells in Venice.
His life is difficult, full of hardship.
A rat may have no tail,
but this guy slays men with his eyes!
First prize won a copy of Living Colour's Stain CD, and our runner-up got a bag of cookies. Hats off to the Liberator Poet Laureates!
