A review of God

"Were I a nightingale, I would sing like a nightingale; were I a swan, like a swan. But as it is, I am a rational being, therefore I must sing hymns of praise to God."
— Epictetus the Stoic, "Discourses"

We praise God, and we curse God. We deny Her (or His, or Its or its) existence, even as we fight wars that may or may not really be about how we choose to worship.

In modern times, God has gotten increasingly buried and distant, crushed down under a pile of convoluted jargon, tired rhetoric and spiteful propaganda. With this review, Flak's staff collectively tries to take a shovel to the mess.

And to make this an open, rolling discussion, we welcome further well-considered, challenging submissions.

— The Staff of Flak Magazine
