It's easy for Americans to lose track of the collected peoples outside of our comfortable borders. We hear rumors about them (wasn't there some sort of flood in Africa somewhere?) and sometimes stop by the tidier countries to visit their various monuments and cafes, but that's about it. How often do we try and figure out what the world as a whole thinks of the towering colossus of military might and Disneyfied entertainment that passes for the last super-power?

This question was handed to five Flak writers in countries across Europe, plus Japan. The result is Americans overseas watching foreigners watching America.

And from our all-too explainable fetish for Jerry Springer, to the soap operas that dominate daytime television, to our aging astronauts, pop music sensations and bad funk, the world has what can charitably called a "mixed impression".

Czech it out.
